Sometimes the simplest combinations are the most delicious — and these Salami Cream Cheese Bagel Bites prove it. Creamy, savory, and perfectly satisfying, they’re an easy lunch or snack that comes together in minutes.

This recipe was inspired by letting the kids take the lead in the kitchen. Every now and then, I step back and let them create something they actually want to see in their lunchbox. It encourages creativity and gives them ownership over what they’re eating — which usually means they’re even more excited to dig in.

The salty richness of salami paired with smooth cream cheese on an everything bagel is surprisingly similar to the classic bagel-and-lox vibe — just a little more kid-friendly and pantry-friendly. Whether you use mini bagel bites or full-sized bagels, this combo is simple, flavorful, and always a hit.

If you haven’t tried it yet, consider this your sign.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 everything bagel bites or 2 regular-sized bagels

  • 8 slices salami

  • 1/3 cup cream cheese

Instructions

  1. Slice each bagel bite (or regular bagel) in half.

  2. Spread about 1 teaspoon of cream cheese on each bagel bite half, or about 4 teaspoons on each half of a regular bagel.

  3. Place 1 slice of salami on half of each bagel bite (or 4 slices on one half of each regular bagel).

  4. Top with the remaining bagel halves to create sandwiches.

  5. If using regular bagels, slice into quarters before serving for easy-to-eat portions.

Notes

  • Lightly toast the bagels before assembling for added texture.

  • Swap everything bagels for plain, sesame, or whole wheat depending on preference.

  • Add sliced cucumber, tomato, or a sprinkle of fresh herbs for a fresh twist.

  • These store well in the refrigerator for a few hours, making them great for packed lunches.
